Backdrop mode - Mix Moongate audio with other apps

Updated over a week ago

Moongate features Backdrop Mode, which allows you to mix Moongate's soundscapes with the audio from other apps. This allows you to achieve the benefits of sound therapy from Moongate, while engaging with other types of content that you enjoy.

To enable backdrop mode

  1. From the soundscape player screen, press the "Backdrop mode" button. This button appears as two squares vertically stacked on top of each other.

  2. Switch on Backdrop mode.

When Backdrop Mode is enabled, Moongate will be controllable from the home screen, since it will give control of the primary audio playback to other apps. You will need to return directly to the Moongate app to control playback while in Backdrop mode.

Control auto shut off behavior

Backdrop mode can be configured with two behaviors:

  1. Turn off automatically - In this mode, Backdrop mode gets disabled automatically after 20 minutes of activity. This is best for users who use Backdrop mode occasionally and do not want it to remain on after each use.

  2. Keep on until turned off - In this mode, Backdrop mode stays enabled until you manually turn it off. This is best for users who mostly use Backdrop mode, and want it to remain on indefinitely.

To change this behavior, tap the blue text under the volume setting on the screen that appears after pressing the Backdrop mode button.
